About CIRL
Our mission
A dynamic sporting environment where all Cook Islanders recognise the benefits of rugby league for the individual, the nation and on the international stage.
How we get there
Four commitments
- Provide accredited courses for coaches and referees at all levels.
- Ensure training courses are accredited and recognised internationally.
- Promote and integrate league programmes into schools, clubs and national events, so the game becomes part of our national culture.
- Unify all CIRL domestic and international associations into one cohesive entity.
Our logo
Wave, cross, spear
The wave inside the oval ball is the ocean we travel. The cross stands for faith, with the Southern Cross as our guiding light. AITU means warriors of the ocean, and the spear marks our readiness for battle. The V shape carries the contest of rugby league, and the tikitiki tangata motif honours our people.
